Spiderman slinging webs soon? Sam Raimi may have a start date for Spiderman 4

Spidey 4 may just bring Spiderman back to us. (Sony Pictures)

It looks like our friendly neighborhood Sam Raimi is bringing the webslinger back once again in…that's right, Spiderman 4.  Peter Parker will be spinning a web in your eyes soon enough, as Sam Raimi has already started telling people that there is a start date in mind for Spiderman 4 to start rolling.

Raimi told the folks over at MTV Splash Page that Spidey may be caught on film once again starting in March.

"The production is starting to come together," Raimi tells the site. "I've got a production designer who is starting to design the sets and the environments that the picture will take place in. We just brought aboard Scott Stokdyk as one of the two visual effects supervisors, and I worked with him on all three Spider-Man pictures."

Casting is coming up, and Gary Ross, the man who is supposed to be responsible for writing the screenplay for both Spiderman 4 and the spinoff about enemy Venom, now has a good direction on his latest draft of the Spiderman 4 script.

Many Spiderman fans lamented the way Spiderman 3 turned out, and attribute its lackluster performance to Sam Raimi's writing.  Spiderman 3 was the only one of the Spiderman movies for which Raimi was credited as a writer.

Gary Ross has written many successful movies, including Seabiscuit, Pleasantville, and the 1988 hit Big.  His movies do not typically fall into the action genre, but that may be a welcome change from the writing of the previous movie.
