Spender-in-Chief refuses to move on a real budget plan

Oh, what superb arrogance is displayed by our “Spender-in-Chief!

While Paul Ryan bemoans the debt crisis imposed by a president who appears to have a spending addiction with American’s money, Obama responded by saying, “We don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.” Do you really believe that, Mr. President? Let’s look at what our debt is right now, almost $17 trillion and climbing, but we don’t have an immediate debt crisis? Would you share with the American people just how you have come to that conclusion? It seems like there are millions of people to whom you promised transparency during your term(s) in office who disagree with you.

There are two reasons for this. First and foremost where’s the transparency when everything you do is behind closed doors and the people don’t hear about what you’ve been doing until it’s already done without any input from them. You might want to look up the word transparency, Mr. President. It means you let people see exactly what you are doing and why and then ask for their input and approval before anything is finalized but you don't demand their approval if they don't agree with you and you follow their will, not yours. Americans are pretty intelligent people and are good at deciding what's best for them. You, apparently have a different definition of transparency than the rest of the country. It would be interesting to know what dictionary you use or do you even know how to use one?

Did you hear a bit of sarcasm there? Well, you’re not imagining it; it’s there. That often happens when we, the American people get disgusted with politicians and this administration. Does that make a case for sounding like a terrorist? You overuse that word more than any president this country has ever seen. The thing is you look at the American people more like terrorists than those who are truly terrorists and are our enemies.

Let’s get back to the subject at hand. Here is a question for you, Mr. President. Just exactly what would you consider a debt problem requiring immediate attention? Would it be something beyond say $25 trillion, $50 trillion? Anything much higher than what we have would mean we no longer have an economy and we would be heading down the river with those European countries that have found themselves in similar situations because of really bad economic decisions by their governments.

Oh, and then that good old word that socialists like to use resurfaces again----“sustainable.” Our debt will be “sustainable” for the next ten years?

Guess what, Mr. President? We don’t want our debt to be sustainable! We, the people, want a balanced budget with some plans to make some major spending cuts without bringing added pain to our military and our seniors. We also want a complete overhaul of our tax system that gets rid of loop holes and gives the American people a fair tax for everyone.

Here’s a suggestion, Mr. President to help bring economic and military strength back to our country. It’s been put out there before but maybe it’s time to do it again and here it is. Perhaps the salaries of everyone in your administration including yourself, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and all members of Congress who make more than the average American could be cut by two thirds. Here’s the helpful part; one third would go toward strengthening our military and the other third would go to reduce our national debt. It wouldn’t solve the debt crisis but it would help. Just think of all the money that would go to help solve our debt crisis that you so openly deny. Oh, and one more thing; no one in the entire administration should be exempt from your health care plan. After all, if it’s good enough for the people it should be good enough for our transparent government.

Here's another tip to help stabalize our economy: The American people would like you to stop using Airforce One for all your travel needs. You don't need to be traveling all over the country in a campaign mode. The elections are over and have been for sometime. What you need to do now is spend more of your time back in Washington where you can do your job or have you forgotten what that is? Here's something novel; why not take advantage of our airports or charter a plane at your expense for your non-official travel and that includes your campaign travels that should have ended with the election and your vacations?

Remember that saying, what's good for the goose is good for the gander? Think of it this way: What's good for the people is good enough for the president, his family and his cabinet. President's weren't elected to get rich off of the people; they were elected to lead and help the people. That's something you have yet to do.

Another thing that is really bothering a lot of people these days are all the lavish vacations that you and your family take on their dime. Everyone needs a vacation once in a while and you notice that was once in a while, but there are many Americans now who have to think twice about taking a vacation because they can't afford it with all the taxes and health care going up. What exactly, do you need you do that makes so many vacations necessary?

Do you know how that angers the people? You and your family are away on some expensive vacation while they are home struggling to make ends meet; sometimes not knowing if they will have enough to get them through the next week or month. It would be bad enough if it was just once or twice, but you and your family go on way too many vacations.

What about what's going on in our country? We have problems that need to be solved with you meeting regularly with the House and the Senate and with civil discussions going between both parties. For some reason Democrats seem to feel that because they hold a majority in the Senate that what they say is how it is. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's time the Democrats realize that they are not in charge of the country even if they think they are.

Remember the bipartisanship and transparency you promised? Well, it's time to lived up to those promises.

Okay, now moving on, you have your loyal Democrats standing in your corner like Rep. Chris Van Hollen, (D-Md.) who thinks that the rich don’t deserve to be rich unless they share their wealth.

The question that it raises is “Why?” Why does anyone deserve any part of a rich man’s wealth unless he or she chooses to share it and decides with whom to share their wealth? Most of the wealthy have gotten there by determination, creativity, training, and most importantly, hard work and good work ethics. The opportunity to do the same is open to everyone. We are not guaranteed that we will all become wealthy, but we have whatever opportunities we are willing and able to take advantage of to do so.

Rep. Hollen looks at Paul Ryan’s plan as favoring the rich and burdening the middle class. He says that Ryan’s plan ‘provides a windfall for the very wealthy and guts vital investments that are central to shared prosperity to upward mobility and to rising middle-class wages.”

He goes on to say that Ryan’s plan “eliminates Obamacare’s benefits while built in budget cuts takes a “wrecking ball” to Medicaid.”

Exactly what are the “benefits” of Obamacare? Is it in all the extra taxes, fees and the fines that will be imposed on anyone who doesn’t have an insurance plan? Those benefits sound really exciting! Yes, there’s a little more sarcasm. Could it be the fact that because Doctors will be limited to what they can charge for their services it will be difficult for doctors to treat patients? Oh, maybe it could be the lack of services that will be available for the chronically ill, seniors and even preemie babies because they will cost too much.

What do the Democrats propose in their budget “deal?” First off, let’s see what Harry Reid says about the Republican budget plan. He says that it “is anything but balance and reflects the same values that were rejected in November.”

Here’s the Democrat’s budget plan. It calls for $1.85 trillion in savings within the next decade with an equal amount of tax revenue increases and spending cuts. According to AP reports, about half of the savings would be used in repealing sequestration.

Well, that sounds like a sound plan (sarcasm). What is seen here looks like just more of the same with no real spending cuts and no redeemable plans to lower our national debt. Did you notice in this plan that half the money they call ‘savings’ will be ‘spent’ to repeal sequestration. Just who was responsible for putting it into law? Now why would our transparent president who signed it into law on August 7, 2012 want it repealed?

Mr. President, rather than worrying about repealing sequestration that you signed into law, why not repeal Obamacare which you also signed into law and is just as “dumb” as you describe sequestration?

Congratulations, Mr. President. You have earned the title of the most unrealistic partisan president in the history of our country. All you are interested in is continuing your egregious spending that will bring our economy in line with countries in Europe. That’s what you really want, isn’t it, Mr. President?

Mr. President, your math is what needs to be looked at. You want what you want and you are determined to get it no matter who gets hurt because of it.

You can spout your rhetoric about wanting bipartisan cooperation to balance the budget all you want. It doesn’t change the fact that you have no intention of cooperating with Republicans to make the necessary spending cuts to balance our budget and bring our national debt down.

Why do you continually talk about bipartisanship when you either don’t understand what it is or as it seems, you really don’t want it to happen? After all, what would that do to your agenda of destroying our once strong economy so you can destroy everything else good that has made this country great in the eyes of the world?

It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that any plan that calls for investing in anything is just more plans to spend us into oblivion.

Mr. President, what kind of country are you going to leave as a legacy for your two beautiful daughters? Wouldn’t you want them to always think of you as a great leader who did his best to make our country greater than it’s ever been? You have the power to do that. Why not work for the good of the country and put your agenda aside because it’s not your agenda that brings greatness to our country. It’s your willingness as the President of these United States to step up and admit your agenda has not moved our country forward and look to the people for what will fulfill their real needs. Those needs are not handouts, but new opportunities for them to earn a good living to support themselves and their families. Those needs mean a lot more but they can be talked about at another time.

Mr. President, you could be as great as you think you are, but your unwillingness to be the transparent president you promised you would be and not listening to the needs and the will of the people just doesn’t put you up there.
