Now that the holidays are over, but the beach is still a bit "brisk" for anybody who is not also a member of the Polar Bears Club, to visit the Photo Fort Lauderdale exhibit, at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale is a great way to spend a couple of hours this weekend.
The work of Diane Arbus and Elliott Erwitt, both in Black and White will transport you to an era of purer, more honest photography. Diane Arbus work comprehends everything from circus workers to nudist colonies. And Erwitt's covers a vast geography, from Russia to New York.
The show also features giant prints from Brazilian artist Vic Munoz, who is known for making art pieces out of materials that have a very short shelf life, however he often has the foresight of photographing them for us who are not lucky enough to see how he builds them.
During the weekend, the Museum's hours are Saturday from 10am until 5pm and Sunday from 12 noon until 5pm and is located at 1 East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
The current show will be on display until the end of March.
