The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum and Garden is hosting an ice cream party for its youngest visitors, ages 2-6. Listen to stories and pretend to make ice cream just as 19th-century New Yorkers once did.

SUPER SABADO: EL MUSEO”S BLOCK PARTY, 4PM
For the final Target Free Third Saturday of the summer, take your party to the streets, in celebration of El Museo del Barrio’s newest exhibition, The (S) Files, also known as The Street Files, the gallery’s biennial. This Saturday features art making, dance performances, hula hoop and jump ropes, a break dance competition, DJ, and much more!

YOGA IN THE ROTUNDA, 2PM
The Brooklyn Museum is hosting a series of classes and workshops this summer in connection with their exhibition Vishnu: Hinduism’s Blue-Skinned Savior, one of which being yoga. Follow your instructor through the exhibition before embarking on a relaxing and spiritual form of exercise with Nikki Costello.

History comes to life at the Morris-Jumel Mansion where children are encouraged to learn about life in the 18th century. Special tours and art projects are all part of the week-long free camp for children ages 6 and above.

At Wave Hill in the Bronx, listen in on Bxindie musicians as they perform from a diverse repertoire. Tonight, jazz, pop, and Latin music all combine for the perfect soothing Wednesday evening.

THIRD THURSDAY, 6PM
With free admission to the Museum of Biblical Art, this event includes a tour led by curator Liana Lupas, who will lead visitors through the museum’s latest exhibition, On Eagle’s Wings: The King James Bible Turns 400.

The Frick Collection is also hosting a free night of its own, inviting visitors to enjoy their two exhibitions, In a New Light: Bellini’s St. Francis in the Desert, and Turkish Taste at the Court of Marie-Antoinette. Gallery sketching, lectures, dance performances, and other events are being planned for the night.

Back for the 14th year, MoMA PS1’s popular Saturday parties feature an eclectic mix of performers. This particular Saturday includes Gang Gang Dance, Miracles Club, Hippos in Tanks, and Lucky Me, among others.

An ongoing event throughout the day and for the run of the so-named exhibition now at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the performance artist invites visitors to watch as she directs various actors throughout the museum for gripping 20-minute performances that touch on various human emotions.
