Speedskating Schedule: 2014 Olympic Games

At the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games, the long-track speed skating events are scheduled to begin on February 8 and conclude on February 22, and the events are scheduled to take place at the Iceberg Skating Palace.

High-profile long-track speed skaters include four-time Olympian Shani Davis and two-time Olympian Jilleanne Rookard.

Davis is a four-time Olympic medalist, having won a gold and a silver medal at both the 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games. Both silver medals came in the 1,500-meter event, and both gold medals were earned in the 1,000-meter event.

Jilleanne Rookard did not win a medal at the 2010 Olympic Games, though she came close. She was part of the team that finished fourth in the team pursuit event, and she finished 12th in the 3,000-meter event. Rookard also competes in the 1,500-meter event.
