Special Teams Coordinator and Tight End's Coach Joe Corozza has dedicated his Career to the Owls at Florida Atlantic University. He joined the team in 2001-2002 as an intern, which clearly shows his dedication and desire to be a Football Coach at the next level..
Learning from the ground up, Corozza found himself in a position for which only hard work is substituted. It's no mistake that players under Corozza are some of the nicest kids to put on an FAU Uniform. Jason Harmon (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Rob Housler (Arizona Cardinals) are only two of the players for which FAU has garnered a great reputation. Corozza is a players Coach.
It wasn't long before the other Coaches at Florida Atlantic were in agreement with offering him an Assistant Coaching position. That next year of 2002-2003, a Defensive Assistant/Strength Coach position was available for which Corozza had the experience.
While at the University, Corozza challenged himself to learn through an education as a Graduate Assistant. Today he works toward his Masters in Exercise Science.
From 2004-2006, Joe served the team as Defensive backs and Tight ends Coach. Football like any Sport is a daily learning experience with lots of change. Making the adjustments keeps you ahead of the game, and it is exactly what one can do by challenging himself in the classroom as well.
As was the order of business for Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger, two Bowl Championships were contested while both were won and brought back to the climes of FAU in Boca Raton, Florida.
Both the New Orleans Bowl and Motor City Bowl in 2008 were victories for the Owls. Corozza, a Coach for both Championships garners those victories as an exceptional accomplishment for the team.
As a Strength Training Coach, Corozza is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
He attended Cooper City High School and served as Assistant Football Coach, defensive line and strength and conditioning. His second assignment was at JP Taravella High School where he was an Assistant Football Coach from 1994-1996.
Corozza also played Football. He was a Defensive Lineman from 1991-1992 at Rampo College in New Jersey, and also played at Cooper City High School from 1987 to 1990. Corozza is Married to wife Jennifer.
