Tired of staying home and dealing with the winter blues?  New Mexico restaurant week was built just for you -  a chance to get out to somewhere (new or not) and spend a little less money than it would normally cost.

Restaurant week has restaurants serving up 3 course meals with special prices.  Depending on their normal prices, you get a break at choices of $25 per person, $25 for two or, as much as $40 per person (at places where this meal would go for a lot more).

The Santa Fe restaurant week starts February 28 and runs until March 6.  (The Albuquerque version starts the week after - I'll have more details in another article)

Starting with the cheapest Santa Fe options, $25 per couple, the restaurants offering up a deal include:

Flying Star Cafe Santa Fe location only: 500 Market St, 505-216-3939 (no reservations taken):

You get a choice of an Appetizer (Soup, salad, or a nosh platter), Entree (Mexican Shrimp Salad, veggie Buddha Bowl, or a green chile cheese burger), and Dessert (Cupcake, slice of cake, or pie).  All that for a couple is a complete steal!

Sleeping Dog Tavern.  114 W. San Francisco St,  505-982-4335.  Located in the Santa Fe plaza.

You get an huge appetizer sampler for two (that include two pork sliders on homemade monkey bread), choice of entrees (rips, cheeseburger, smoked salmon, or a green chile mac & cheese), and a dessert to split (cheesecake, apple cherry strudel or chocolate cookie pie).  Wow!  Sounds good to me!

Maria's New Mexican Kitchen.  555 W Cordova Rd, 505-983-7929.

A choice of appetizer (nachos, green chile stew, posole or salad), entree (enchiladas, chile rellenos, burrito grande, or tortilla burger), and dessert (flan, chocolate mousse, and natillas)

And there are alot more! Check out the whole list.

At $25 per person are places like Joe's; Cowgirl BBQ, and Italian-inspired cuisine at Andiamo!

If you are looking for something a little more upscale at $40 per person is:  Anasazi Restaurant, Terra at Encantado, The Compound, Trattoria Nostrani, and Geronimo.  Just be sure to make reservations for these places, and soon!

Not only is there special deals at restuarants, but there are special lodging deals, as well as events

Hopefully you'll find something that gets you out of the house.  Bon appetit!
