The second teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 leaves an eerie but promising message from District 13.
The teaser tilted "Unity", was released Wednesday, July 9, and finds President Snow (Donald Sutherland) addressing the citizens of Panem with not just Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) by his side, but also with District 7's victor Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), who was also captured during the aftermath of Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) destruction of the arena in Catching Fire.
While Snow addresses Panem, the live coverage is interrupted by flickers of images District 3’s genius victor Beetee (Jeffrey Wright) who sends an urgent message from District 13 to everyone, “the Mockingjay lives.”
The second teaser comes weeks after the first trailer was released with President Snow urging “Unity, Prosperity, and Sacrifice” to the rebels of Panem.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 finds Katniss Everdeen in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta and a nation moved by her courage.
Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Southerland, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, and Jena Malone all reprise their roles for the final two installments. The cast also include newcomers Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Gwendoline Christie, Patina Miller, and Mahershala Ali.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik.
Mockingjay, the final installment to the beloved franchise will be split into part 1 and 2 and was simultaneously filmed back to back
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 hits theaters November 21.
