Special K cereal recalled due to risk of glass fragments in box

What ever happened to getting tiny toys in your cereal box? Now you have to watch out for metal and glass.

On Monday, Kellogg’s announced a recall of “Special K Red Berries” cereal because it may contain glass fragments.

The 11, 22, and 37-ounce packages of the cereal are affected by the recall. Apparently, no one has been hurt... yet.

The Kellogg’s website says, “At Kellogg, our number one priority is the quality and safety of our foods. All of our processes will be thoroughly reviewed and appropriate actions will be taken to help prevent this situation from happening in the future.” Anyone who has purchased the cereal is urged not to eat it and to contact Kellogg’s to receive a coupon for a replacement.

We told you last October about Kellogg's recalling it's Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal due to metal fragments in the cereal. This new recall doesn't really ease the fears of cereal lovers when it comes to Kellogg's products.

Consumers can get in touch with Kellogg Consumer Affairs for more information by clicking here or by calling 1-800-962-1413, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Kellogg may also make arrangements to retrieve the product for further evaluation.
