Nashville hosted a special Gene Marshall doll display when Tennessee actress Chevy Anz brought a selection of new Gene dolls from a 2011 doll event in San Francisco and displayed them at Asihi's in Bellevue for local Gene collectors to admire on Feb. 5, 2012.
Although Gene was officially retired in 2010, there have been doll events since then where new, limited edition Gene dolls were released. One of those post-retirement events took place in Nashville in August 2010.
This year some of the new limited-edition Gene dolls which were displayed at the Nashville showing included:
- The Master's Touch -- a red-haired doll in black with leopard trim
- Barcelona -- an auburn-haired doll dressed in green
- Princesa -- a red-headed doll in a beaded aqua dress
See slideshow for photos.
The Gene Marshall doll was created by artist Mel Odom and sold by the Ashton-Drake Company before moving to Jason Wu's Integrity company.
