Independence Day is just around the corner! Here are some local specials to take advantage of:
Republic: This Takoma Park restaurant will be hosting their first annual Freedom Fest. The festive BBQ will include cheddar biscuits, deviled eggs, coleslaw, grilled corn on the cob, heirloom tomato salad, and even BBQ tofu for vegetarians. There will also be local bands playing music, and over 25 craft beers available from local producers. Tickets are $35 for a half day pass (11-3 or 3-7) or $50 for an all day pass. The ticket price includes all food and drinks.
City Tap House: This beer-centric restaurant will be having a BeerBQ cookoff. For $10, guests can vote in the cookoff. There will also be beer, side dishes, and even a cornhole tournament on the patio!
Richard Sandoval Restaurants: All 6 venues (Masa 14, Zengo, Toro Toro, El Centro 14th St. and El Centro Georgetown, and Ambar) will be having their bottomless brunch deal. There will also be red, white, and blue margaritas at some of the locations to really get your in the mood to celebrate our country’s independence.
Spirit and Odyssey Cruises: Guests on Spirit Cruises will enjoy a premium open bar, a dinner buffet, music, dancing, fireworks, and rooftop views for $169 per person. Alternatively, you could enjoy a lunch buffet for $43 per person if you have plans in the evening. Odyssey Cruises is also having a 4th of July event where you can enjoy a live band entertainment, premium open bar, and a four-course menu while watching the fireworks, for $209 a person.
Capital City Brewing Company Arlington: This hotspot will be featuring an original patriotic beer and several additional festive food and drink specials. The original beer is a red, white, and blue beer that is brewed with fresh red raspberries, white wheat malt and ripe blueberries and then fermented on a Bavarian yeast strain.
