On the lips of many Christians in Springfield today is the news that Phil Robertson, patriark of the Duck Dynasty clan, has been suspended from filming of the A & E television shows fifth season. GLAAD has taken exception to the fact that he stated that homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible.
It is not a surprise to anyone that the Robertsons believe the Bible. It is also evident to anyone who has seen the show that they will not change what they say and do to fit the beliefs or views of others. If you support Phil's right to say what he believes without the fear of retaliation, contact A & E by mailed, phone, telegram or e-mail. Also send a message to Phil and his family supporting them.
The main cry that is usually made in these cases is that Bible believing Christians are not tolerant of homosexuals. Accusations of being homophobes or racist are often used. If a homosexual was dismissed from a job because of his pro-homosexual views, GLAAD and others would be furious. Dismissing someone who disagrees with them is appropriate retribution. In the United States of America everyone is to have equal rights. Equal rights are not just reserved for some.
Free speech is a thing of the past here. In the United States of Tolerance, you do not have the right to say anything that is in disagreement with GLAAD and any other organization that has enough money and power to get people elected.
Should Phil and his family decide that a network that takes it's orders from those who don't consider them of value because of the differing views they have the audacity to share, I believe that there is at least one or two networks that would continue to air Duck Dynasty. Real Christians must stand together in this time when your Christianity it called into question because you don't agree with certain politically correct groups.
