“All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.”(Acts 2:4)

Language is the words and symbols used to communicate a message. Words and symbols have certain meanings attached to them in the language. Several thousand languages exist around the world. A person visiting others with a different language will need to learn the language or have someone interpret for them to effectively communicate and establish a relationship/dialogue. Learning a new language can be a challenging process. The learner will need to know how the native language is utilized in its context.

The Holy Bible states believers in Jesus at Pentecost began speaking with other tongues or languages. The Holy Spirit gave them supernatural ability. Those listening heard the language of their country. Speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Paul, a servant of God, called it a language of the angels. He also stated it is communication to God for a person to build up his or her faith.

Believer, the gift of tongues is from God via the Holy Spirit. Honor and respect God’s giving the supernatural ability to communicate in this special way for His glory.
