Peter Mensah, currently seen as Oenomaus in Starz's "Spartacus: Vengeance," will join the cast of HBO's "True Blood" when it returns for Season 5 in the summer of 2012.
The "300" actor will play the recurring role of Kibwe, Chancellor of the Vampire Authority, according to Deadline, who first reported the news on Monday (February 13).
The site reports that the African-born vampire will "work towards mainstreaming the Authority under Roman's tenure."
Other recently announced "True Blood" Season 5 cast additions include Chris Meloni ("Law & Order: SVU"), Kelly Overton, Lucy Griffiths, Valentina Cervi, Louis Herthum and "Hell On Wheels" star Christopher Heyerdahl.
Meloni and Heyerdahl will play ancient and powerful vampires, Overton and Herthum have been cast as werewolves, Griffiths will portray Eric Northman's (Alexander Skarsgard) vampire sister, while Cervi will play the ancient vampire Salome.
In addition to starring in the current and past "Spartacus" series, Mensah, 52, has appeared in "Tears of the Sun," "Hidalgo," "Avatar" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."
"Spartacus: Vengeance" airs Fridays at 10/9c on Starz.
