"Spartacus: War of the Damned" will air an all-new episode on Channel 260 in Tempe on Friday night. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, Spoiler TV shared the photos released for episode 3.04 titled "Decimation." On the episode teased in these new photos, Spartacus will have to face the possbility of a Roman spy among his men. Crassius will have his own issues, and he will teach his soldiers a bloody lesson using an older form of punishment.
The sneak peek for the episode shows an attack on the city by Roman soldiers. Spartacus thinks quickly, and the situation is handled, but the focus goes to one man at the end of the scene. Spartacus thanks the man for his assistance in handling the attack.
Steven DeKnight, one of the executive producers of the series, spoke about the dark tone of this season in an interview. He said the following, according to Huffington Post TV:
"Historically, when they escaped, it was really not a pretty sight, what they did to the Romans. I mean, it was vicious, they really struck out at them. [Executive producer] Rob Tapert and I had always wanted to pursue that and to see that in some fashion. Starz was a little nervous about it because they had the same reaction, 'Does it tarnish our heroes?'"
