A Nevada middle school shooting occurred Monday morning at about 7:16 a.m. at Sparks Middle School outside of Reno. Two were killed and two male minors are in critical condition at Renown Regional Medical Center. According to RGJ.com, the shooter is one of the two that died.
Reno deputy chief Tom Robinson said 150 to 200 personnel secured the middle school and the surrounding area after the shooting. The investigation "has gone from tactical to an investigative," the report stated.
Parents were directed to pick their kids up at Sparks High School.
Robinson tried reassuring parents after the shooting:
“I can tell them to rest assured. The schools are safe. The rest of the city is safe.”
In a 9:50 a.m. update, Kyle Nucum, 13, claims he witnessed another student shoot his teacher at Sparks Middle School Monday morning.
As Nucum recounts, he said his teacher saw the student armed with a gun and tried making him put the gun down. The student then shot the teacher. The news source is trying to verify the teacher's identity in the Sparks shooting.
