Sparkly snow paint is fun for kids (Photos)

Puffy, white paint is great for making snowy pictures. Only three ingredients are needed for this quick and easy paint. Gather shaving cream, white glue and salt, and whip up a batch today for a fun activity with your kids.

  1. Cover your work surface with old newspaper or a dropcloth.
  2. Mix equal amounts of shaving cream and white glue. It's not an exact science, so there's no need to measure. However, if you add too much glue, you will end up with a gloppy mess, so try not to go overboard.
  3. Use a paintbrush to spread the snow paint on your picture. Card stock works better than copy paper for this project.
  4. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle salt over the top. The salt will give your picture a snowy sparkle.
  5. Allow your project to dry, then display your wintry work.

Snow paint might seem best for the winter months, but it is fun to use all year long. In the heat of summer, painting a chilly picture might help you feel cooler for a little while. In the winter, use the paint to create a winter wonderland masterpiece. It can also be used while learning letters, whether for a "C is for Cold" lesson or an "S is for Snow" one. In fact, you don't need any particular reason for making snow paint, because it's fun for kids at any time. Your children will enjoy this project any day of the year.
