The St. Petersburg Amateur Radio Club [SPARC] is holding its annual SPARC-fest at Freedom Lake Park on Saturday, Nov. 9th, 2013. Freedom Lake Park is accessable from 49th St. N. and 102nd Ave. in Pinellas Park, just off US-19. If you are coming on I-275, take the 118th Ave. exit, go west to 49th St., and then go south to 102nd Ave.
This hamfest is one of the best local events of its kind because there is usually perfect weather and the park is a great location. Weather forecasts for Saturday indicate a cool morning with 20% chance of rain during the day, so get there early to find the best of the unique electronic junque selection. All types of electronic equipment, parts, tubes, and test equipment will be on display for sale. The event is free with free parking and tailgating. Food & beverages will be available. Opening time is 8 am, but sellers normally arrive earlier. VE ham license testing begins at 9 am.
