Space Mountain is a fast moving roller coaster that provides thrills and chills in the dark. With lights, noises and plenty of movement, it is one of the most popular rides in the theme park. Incidents on any attraction are always concerning, but usually the ride would be reopened after an assessment was made. According to authorities, there was no malfunction of the ride.
The Space Mountain attraction has been closed since the incident earlier this morning. Walt Disney World shut down the Space Mountain for inspection per company safety routines. No update was given if the ride will reopen on Sunday morning.
The woman is said to be awake and in stable condition in a local hospital. According to the Disney company, a representative was sent to the hospital on behalf of the company to talk with the woman and her family.
