Sox drop 5th straight

The losses are mounting on the southside. After a 6-4 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles at US Cellular Field yesterday, The White Sox have now dropped five games in a row.

Gavin Floyd (3-2) was the latest victim to suffer a loss after surrendering six runs over six innings. Rookie phenom Zach Britton recorded his fifth win of the season for the birds, limiting the pale hose to only five hits in six innings of work.

Speaking to the Chicago Tribune after the game, manager Ozzie Guillen was asked if it was time to push the panic the button?

"There are only so many days I can tell the fans we'll be OK. There are so many days I can tell myself we'll be OK. I don't know if we will be OK. Every day you say, 'we'll be OK, tomorrow we'll get them.' All of a sudden the next day is a little bit worse.

Then you start thinking, what can we do, what should we do? You know what we should do? Just keep playing, because no matter what way you look at it, you won't resolve the problem."

The club will try and turn things around tonight when opening day starter Mark Buehrle (1-3) takes the hill. The lefty will be opposed by Jeremy Guthrie (1-3). The O’s righty held the Red Sox to seven hits and no runs last Wednesday.

The game can be viewed locally on WCIU at 7 PM CT.
