Located in the heart of Boston’s SoWa Arts district the SoWa Open Market is one of New England’s hottest venues for artisan bakers, fashion designers, artists, and crafters. Held every Sunday through the end of October literally thousands of people from all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire turn out to see what the market has to offer over the course of the season.
The SoWa Open Market has proved to be so popular that they have branched out to several new locations, including art hotspot Portsmouth, NH. But the original Boston market is still proving to be the biggest customer draw.
Vendors are carefully vetted during the application process to ensure that market goers are offered a vast array of top-notch items they just can’t find anywhere else. In fact, the jurying process to get a spot as a SoWa vendor is so stringent that there are currently a few spots open for vendors looking to fill in a few dates over the rest of the season.
While spaces for local farmers, food trucks, bakers, and jewelry designers are all currently filled for the rest of the year all other artists and crafters are welcome to apply for one of the coveted SoWa Open Market spots. Any food vendors or jewelry vendors who wish to be put on a waiting list for this season should also send in an application.
An online application can be found here, please have at least three photos of your work ready to attach to your application. All crafters and artists are required to select at least 5 dates that they want to be there to sell at the market.
The SoWa Open Market is held every Sunday from 10:00 to 4:00 at 460 Harrison Avenue in Boston, MA. The market season began in May and will continue through October 30th.
