Soutron Global Selected by National Institute of Economic & Social Research

Today, January 22, 2013, Soutron Global, the international library transformation company, announced the addition of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) to their growing library and information management system client list. The NIESR is based in London, England, U.K.

Established in 1938, the National Institute of Economic & Social Research is a non-profit research institute. Its research interests are constantly changing due to new needs, with their primary research needs being dedicated to policy formulation, research, and analysis. The NIESR’s work is supported by a thirty-member research staff whose knowledgeable work product is influential world-wide, with subscribers to its publications in over seventy countries.

The British and European headquarters of Soutron is in London, while the North American and Global headquarters of Soutron Global is in Encinitas, California, north of San Diego. According to Soutron, “By selecting Soutron, NIESR has best positioned its library to meet the organization's operational strategy of providing ‘a central source of timely, evaluated information to support experts and researchers of economic data.’ NIESR staff is planning to offer external access to the Library Resources as part of a new corporate membership package, which will be launched in 2013. They see the Soutron system as an important part of these plans.”

NIESR Research Librarian Patricia Oliver stated that “Soutron understood our need to align the library with the changing business requirements. I look forward to working with Soutron's very responsive team and tapping into their robust library and document management capabilities." Graham Beastall, Soutron’s Managing Director, stated, "I am delighted that Soutron was selected by NIESR to help them meet their information business objectives."
