If you haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy free skating at Southwest Rink at Skyline Park then you may be game for a new offer from Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines, through its subsidiary AirTran Airways, announced new flights from Denver International Airport to Cancun International Airport.
From DIA you can fly daily to Cancun starting April 16, 2012 through July 7, 2012. Service will slow down to Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday flights on July 8, 2012 through August 12, 2012, and eventually slow down to weekend connections August 13 through September 28.
“We are excited to offer more domestic markets new opportunities to travel to Mexico,” said Bob Jordan, Southwest Airlines’ Executive Vice President and AirTran Airways President. He added, “The additional service is one way customers are already realizing the benefits of the Southwest and AirTran acquisition.”
On June 3, 2012 AirTran will begin service between Orange County, CA and Cabo San Lucas/San Jose del Cabo and between Orange County and Mexico City.
If you can’t set off to Mexico at the moment, there are still two weeks left of free skating at Skyline Park (skate rental is $2). More than 40,000 Denverites and their friends have visited this season. They are running a Valentine’s Day special with a LUV-themed photo booth where couples can enter their photo to win one of five pairs of roundtrip tickets to any Southwest location; drawing is on the 14th and will be announced at the rink and on their social media networks.
