Do you like to set sail on the open water or feel the adrenaline surge from a fast- moving power boat? If so, then you don’t want to miss the Southwest International Boat Show, coming to the League City bay area at the end of March. Here is some background information:

Event: Southwest International Boat Show

Location: South Shore Harbor Marina, Bay area, Houston, TX

Date & Time: Thursday through Sunday, March 27 through March 30. Thursday and Friday hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Southwest International Boat Show showcases more than 400 boats with exhibitors on hand from across Texas and the nation, ready to demonstrate sail boats, power boats, and boating merchandise. Many who attend the event find that it’s a great way to get in touch with merchants and find the right boat for recreational and other purposes.

But the Southwest International Boat Show is more than just a display of boats. The event also aims to educate and guests can learn all about scuba diving, boat sailing, boat safety, and other water- related activities from experts in the business. Multiple seminars are scheduled to educate would- be boaters on the different aspects of ownership, operation, etc.

No event would be complete without entertainment and the Southwest International Boat Show is ready to keep guests humming and happy with live music and a beer garden. Dubbed the Crews and Brews Craft Beer Garden, it will serve up some of Texas’ finest craft beer, including beer from such notable breweries as:

  • Texas Big Beer
  • Southern Star
  • Saint Arnold
  • Pedernales
  • Rahr & Sons

…And possibly other breweries as well. As an added bonus, guests who visit on Friday between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and purchase an admission ticket will receive a token good for four beer tastings.

Boating is a great way to relax and enjoy the great outdoors and the Southwest International Boat Show is an excellent way to learn more about boats and related topics. It’s educational, it’s entertaining, and the cost is reasonable, with ticket prices ranging from $5 per child to $13 per adult, with kids under the age of five admitted free of charge.
