The month of September has so many running opportunities that we’ve had to break it up into different articles. The first article covered September 1-10. Now we move to September 17, 2011, which has four events of its own.

Remember the Fallen 5K Memorial Run- Therewasn’t a lot of information available about this race. The 5k will start at the George D. Mullen Center, located at 1602 Kramer Way in North Port. (Click here for a map) The race is scheduled for a 7:30 am start. Click here to register online.

Come Run with Us 5K- This event will benefit The Kleist Health Education Center, an educational not-for-profit organization devoted to healthy lifestyles at9 Florida Gulf Coast University. The race will begin at 10501 FGCU Blvd. (Click here for a map) and is scheduled for an 8:00 am start. Click here to register online.

Prostate Cancer Awareness 5k- This event is scheduled for a 7:30 am start. It will start from Physicians Regional Hospital, 6101 Pine Ridge Road in Naples. (Click here for a map) Click here to register online.

Senior Friendship Centers Run for the Ages 5K- This is a benefit for the Senior Friendship Center in Lee County. The race will be held at Lovers Key State Park, located at 8700 Estero Boulevard Fort Myers Beach. (Click here for a map) The event is scheduled for an 8:30 am start. Click here to register online.
