Southwest Airlines Announces New Destinations from Austin Texas

Southwest Airlines has announced new seasonal non-stop service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to San Jose del Cabo / Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (Los Cabos International Airport). These top tourist destinations are located at the southern tip of Baja California, just a few hours away by flight. The airline will also launch service to Portland Oregon, all this starting in June of 2014. The Portland flights will be daily, scheduled to depart Austin at 12:55 PM with return flights departing Portland at 10:40 AM. The Saturday time will differ with a 2:40 PM departure time from Austin but the schedule coming from Portland stays the same. The Los Cabos flights will operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The departure time from Austin will be at 11:35 AM and returning from Los Cabos to Austin at 1:40 PM. All times are local times. Additionally, Southwest Airlines has added an extra daily non-stop flight to Denver Colorado bringing the number of non-stop flights from three to four to the Mile High City.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport recently welcomed new services from Aeromar Airlines and Allegiant Airlines and very excited toward the start of the British Airways flight from Austin to London, with Boeing 787 Dreamliner service in March of 2014. It will be the first regularly scheduled non-stop trans-Atlantic flight from our live music capital of the world. Austin-Bergstrom International had a record 9.4 million passengers that traveled through the airport in 2012 and in 2013, traffic is up 6% year-to-date.
