Meet the adoptable horses at Southern Winds Equine Rescue (SWER) this Saturday, April 19, at the annual Open House from 10 am - 3 pm, 4447 2nd Road, Udall, Kans. The program includes a farrier demonstration by Richard Clower, veterinary information from Jessica Harrison, DVM, and a presentation on chiropractic benefits for horses by Dr. Brian Dopps.
There will be arena showings of the adoptable horses to demonstrate their work under saddle. Rescue founder, Vic McMullen, Sr. and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and talk with visitors about the rescue.
"The rescue is open for adopting or volunteering anytime, but the Open House is a special opportunity to not only meet the horses, but an educational opportunity for anyone who owns a horse," said McMullen. "In addition, this is a fund raiser for us with many items donated for the silent auction along with a jar for freewill donations."
Free food and refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the Southern Winds Equine Rescue Open House, call 316-858-3233 or visit the SWER web site.
