Southern Colorado Golf Expo returns to Springs

After a two-year hiatus, the Southern Colorado Golf and Travel Expo returns to Colorado Springs this weekend, March 23 and 24. A very successful opening show in 2010 had organizers excited, but the sale of the Phil Long Expo Center left them without a venue. This weekend's show will be at the Freedom Financial Services Center on North Nevada Ave.

The show will open at 9 am both Saturday and Sunday. It will close at 5 pm Saturday and 4 pm Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults, with $8 prices for military and senior, which will be anyone 50 years and older, just like on the PGA Champions Tour. Children 12 and under get in for free.

The show will feature exhibitors representing most of the local public and private golf facilities, as well as clothing, accessories, and destination vendors. There will be a golf sale/swap sponsored by the Colorado Golf Association, and a practice area where patrons can test new equipment from various manufacturers.

The weather looks to be somewhat iffy this weekend, so you might as well spend it inside and gear up for that first round of the year.
