A “Southern Charm” renewal for season 2 has officially been made by Bravo, and fans are thrilled. There had been radio silence on the topic since the end of the debut season, but on Wednesday the show's Facebook page broke the news. What is the scoop on the return?
At this point, Bravo has not actually detailed all that much about “Southern Charm” season 2. The network has confirmed the renewal on their website, noting that the show will once again be based in Charleston, S.C. The site teases that “these modern day aristocrats struggle to preserve their family name while dealing with the constraints of this tight-knit, posh world.”
That is all great, fans would say, but who is returning for season 2? Will the entire cast be back or will it be a new group of people? Viewers loved the original mix of folks, but so far it seems uncertain whether the group will be together in full once again. There are social media signs, however, pointing to good news for fans who love the original cast.
Though earlier Thomas Ravenel had said he was passing on a second season due to his campaign, Fox News indicates that he is returning after all. Ravenel said, “It doesn't make sense to turn down a platform that enables you to spread your ideas to a bigger, more diverse audience.” Thomas has his sights set on the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Lindsey Graham, and it certainly could be interesting to see this play out on the show.
Kathryn Dennis, who had a baby with Ravenel after season 1 wrapped, seemingly is excited for season 2 of “Southern Charm” as well. Dennis tweeted a picture of their baby girl and said, “We're gonna need a bigger..bow! @Andy, excited about season two :).” How about other “Southern Charm” stars like Cameran Eubanks, Craig Conover, Shep Rose, Jenna King and Witney Sudler-Smith?
There doesn't seem to be confirmation one way or the other quite yet for this crew. Some cast members are retweeting posts welcoming them back for more of the show, so there seemingly will indeed be plenty of familiar faces when the she returns. Are you glad to hear that season 2 of “Southern Charm” is on the way? Bravo has not yet detailed a season 2 premiere date, so fans will have to stay tuned for now.
