Once again the weather is going weird here in Michigan but skiing is still going strong across the state and here in southern Michigan with great conditions reported at all of the resorts.
The weather
According to the national weather service, it will remain cold Saturday with a forecast high of 26 F and low of 9 F and on Sunday the high is set for 27 F and a low of 26 F. A wintry mix is possible with rain and snow on Sunday and then Monday the temps are heading up into the 40's and then on Tuesday there is a possible high of 51 F with rain forecast for each day. Temperatures are then going to drop into the mid 20's for the rest of the week.
Upper Michigan is a bit better off for us skiers with snow called for each day over the next week along with very cold temperatures to follow. Saturday is forecast to be in the mid 30's and then the bottom falls out with temps dropping down into the single digits the remainder of the week.
Right now in upper Michigan, Boyne Mountain Resort is reporting fantastic skiing with a 38-58 inch base with 350 acres open for skiing.
As always, for updates on conditions at all of the 51 ski areas in the state, the best place to go is the Pure Michigan skiing website which provides links and contact information for each area.
