Are you’re going to be anywhere near the 16 powdery beaches of South Walton on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast between May 9 and 11? If so, you’re invited to drop by the city’s annual ArtsQuest Fine Arts and Music Festival at Sandestin’s Grand Boulevard.

Over 7,000 top art collectors and new art buyers will be checking out the works of close to 200 international artists this year. The family friendly festival will also feature a teacher-run "Kids Zone" where youngsters can express their creativity while parents attend workshops for basket weaving, watercolor painting and more.

Attendees can relax under an umbrella while listening to live jazz, bluegrass and gypsy swing, or they can enjoy live entertainment including interactive storytelling by the Seaside Repertory Theater and performances by 30A Dancewave.

Produced by the city’s Cultural Arts Alliance and presented by Visit South Walton, the event is free but with a $5 suggested entry donation.

Among other major upcoming events, the annual Sandestin Wine Festival is slated for April 11 and 12, and the South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival will be held April 24-27.

In other news from South Walton, the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa has completed a $12.5 million renovation including a refurbishment of its 200 Spa Tower rooms, a redesigned indoor pool, an enhanced main lobby and other major improvements. Including some reconfigured suites in the Spa Tower, the property now offers a total of 602 rooms.
