South Park - where families come to stay

South Park is an up-and-coming neighborhood that is filled with families and therefore, family-friendly businesses that cater to them.

Walk down the street during the day and you'll see what I'm talking about, just don't come on Mondays when most businesses are closed.

My first visit to South Park included a stop at Station Tavern, a burger & beer lounge complete with a fenced-in, outdoor play areas for kids. With menu items that are enticing enough for the pickiest of palates, this trendy little bar on the corner of Fern and Ivy is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for a quick bite to eat in a fun, friendly environment.

If education or community is more your thing, you'll want to sign up for a class at Baby Garten Studio, located inside the historic Burlingame Garage. With childbirth preparation classes, sign language and more, the families that come into this studio create lifelong friendships and truly become a part of this growing community.

Boutiques abound in this delightful area with stores like Progress and So Childish making it convenient to shop for everyone at one location. With unique books, toys and gear for babies and kids along with stationary, furniture and housewares, these store will leave you coveting their full collection of household items and books to display on your coffee table.

For an official tour of the great venues found in South Park, check out their quarterly walkabouts and their official website, South Park Scene. The next walkabout is scheduled for October 1st.
