The creators of "South Park" received death threats from a radical Muslim group after their portrayal of the prophet Mohammed in last week's episode of the show.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who both grew up in Colorado, featured Mohammed dressed up in a bear suit in the episode.
A warning was placed on a radical Muslim website RevolutionMuslim.com. The site has since been removed.
The post read: "We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them."
Van Gogh was the Dutch filmmaker who was killed in 2004 by a fanatic who didn't like Van Gogh's portrayal of Muslim women in one of his movies.
The author of the post, Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee, told the Associated Press that he hoped the warning would insure that the duo didn't insult the prophet again. He also said that Parker and Stone "should feel threatened by what they did."
Last week's show marked the 200th episode of "South Park."
Parker and Stone met while studying film at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
This is the second religious group the two have offended in less than a week. A few days ago the comic team announced that they would be taking on the Mormons on Broadway, in a new musical titled "The Book of Mormon."

mohammed would be disappointed that people are killing in his name. we have freedom of speech and if they dont like it, then they dont have to watch it.
its ironic people from countries that don't believe in free speech want to use it, anyone say hypocrite much?
Also I thought Muslims were suppose to believe in peace not killing people for what they see fit, I mean people make fun of jesus and other religious figures and you dont see them making death threats and all that.
People kill me they really do. "with there stupidity, and lack of common sense"
Were these threats the reason Mohammad's name was bleeped in this weeks episode? Sad.
So the WHOLE end of the episode was COMPLETELY censored because of this??? It wasn't even that good of a story, 200th and 201th episodes, but even so... wth???
Many Muslims have a very distorted view of freedom of speech. It is not one sided. It is better to be offended than not to have the freedom to offend.
You guys are so childish...
Such a "peaceful" religion, eh?
Muslims watch southpark??
