Working people in South Florida received some good news in 2013. Pay increased by 2.4 percent in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties, more than the United States average, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The only metro area with a larger increase was Dallas-Fort Worth with a 3.5 percent increase according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. "I am glad that pay is going up for regular working people. I need for customers at the restaurant where I work to be making more money because that means I get bigger tips," said Paula Thompson.
"It is about time people starting making more money. The last few years have been tough for working people," said Jorge Gonzalez.
