South Florida pay increases by 2.4 percent during 2013

Working people in South Florida received some good news in 2013. Pay increased by 2.4 percent in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties, more than the United States average, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The only metro area with a larger increase was Dallas-Fort Worth with a 3.5 percent increase according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This information was contained in an article by Donna Gehrke-White in the February 7 Sun-Sentinel.

"I am glad that pay is going up for regular working people. I need for customers at the restaurant where I work to be making more money because that means I get bigger tips," said Paula Thompson.

"It is about time people starting making more money. The last few years have been tough for working people," said Jorge Gonzalez.
