There will be two separate pro-2nd amendment rallies on Saturday as part of two nationwide efforts.
The "Guns Across America" nationwide protest has been sweeping the nation. Its emphasis and purpose is to show state legislatures across the country that many citizens are not at all in favor of any new gun control legislation. This noble cause was the brainchild of Eric Reed of Texas. The full story on Eric and his nationwide effort can be found here. Contact information for each state's coordinator can be found in the description section at the top of the national facebook event page.
The South Dakota portion of the "Guns Across America" rally will take place at our state capitol in Pierre at "high noon". To connect with the South Dakota event, there has actually been 2 facebook groups created here and here.
The other national event is called, "Gun Appreciation Day". It is being done to show public support for gun ownership by going to your local gun shops, gun shows and gun ranges at noon on Saturday. In Rapid City, you can participate in this event by going to First Stop Gun Shop.
In spite of our national mainstream media networks trying to portray most Americans as being in favor of more gun control measures, thousands or possibly even millions of citizens will gather in cities across our nation this Saturday to make their voices heard. Many Americans are passionate about showing their support in favor of the second amendment and are adamantly opposed to any further infringements upon their natural right to keep and bear arms in order to protect our families and our property.
