On Saturday, 2013 NCAA football live stream and TV games will present many of the ranked teams in action, but few competing against other ranked teams. However, one of the bigger matchups on the schedule features the South Carolina Gamecocks taking on the Georgia Bulldogs. It's early in the season, but still a "must-win" game for the Bulldogs in terms of championship considerations. Today's televised and live streaming NCAA football game will be presented for fans thanks to the ESPN networks.
According to a Sept. 7 report via ESPN, Georgia is looking to avoid an 0-2 start to their season after falling last week to Clemson 38-35. Meanwhile, South Carolina is looking to improve upon their current 1-0 start and No. 6 overall ranking. The game will be played at Athens, Georgia's Sanford Stadium before a full house of Bulldogs fans. However, South Carolina seems to hold the advantage over the No. 11 Georgia team this year, thanks mostly to their defense, and Heisman Trophy candidate Jadeveon Clowney leads the way.
Clowney did receive some criticism in the opening game against North Carolina, as many said he looked tired. The defensive lineman vowed he would be back and improve upon his performance in the next game, so Georgia seems to be on notice. Carolina coach Steve Spurrier told the media:
"J.D. is ready to play. I think one thing he learned is that the camera is on him all the time now. It wasn't on him last year, it was on him on the replays after he made sacks, big plays and stuff like that. He knows that and hopefully he is ready to go. Hopefully we can get him a little bit better prepared physically to go the distance against Georgia."
Despite their season-opening loss, the Bulldogs still hung tough throughout the game, with quarterback Aaron Murray recording 333 passing yards on 20 of 29 completions. That included a rushing touchdown, but unfortunately it also included an interception. Murray won't have Malcolm Mitchell to throw to during this game though, as Mitchell tore his right ACL during a celebratory touchdown performance in the previous game.
South Carolina comes into this game ranked 18th in the country in terms of total yards, and 27th in terms of passing yards. The two teams are about evenly matched, so far, in terms of rushing yards with Carolina ranking 32nd and Georgia at 33rd. Mike Davis has averaged 9.6 yards and had a total of 115 yards in the first game on 12 carriers. For Georgia, Todd Gurley had 154 total yards against Clemson and averaged 12.8 yards with 2 touchdowns scored. The Bulldogs will try to get Gurley going on the ground, although it could be a rough day against that tough Gamecocks' defense.
Today's South Carolina vs. Georgia college football game has a start time of 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Televised coverage of the NCAA game will be on cable or satellite TV through ESPN and it's hi-definition channels. The live streaming presentation is available for WatchESPN customers who will need to log in with their cable or satellite provider name in order to watch online. The game could be blacked out or restricted on certain devices for live streaming.
