Just when eating an abundance of food was finally scratched off of your list of things to do after those holiday parties the next installment of South Carolina’s Restaurant Week is fast approaching. It’s an eleven day feast with hundreds of casual to fine dining restaurants participating throughout South Carolina’s major cities. The feast begins January 12th and runs through January 22nd throughout Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach. This is great time to schedule a 1-1/2 hour road trip to Columbia or Greenville. For an extended vacay, plan a weekend getaway to Hilton Head, Charleston or Myrtle Beach—each less than a 4 hour drive on average.
Participating restaurants provide patrons the chance to partake in a 3-course dining experience of restaurant favorites and/or specially added menu items. Depending on the restaurant, dining selections are broken into 3 tiers: 3 for $20, 3 for $30 and 3 for $40 which typically includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Keep in mind that reservations are accepted at many of the establishments so calling ahead may provide the best dining options. According to The Charleston Restaurant Association, “This [Restaurant Week] is one of the most highly anticipated culinary events in the Charleston area.”
