A South Carolina murder-suicide has claimed the lives of six family members in Charleston. The tragic news out of South Carolina indicates that two children were among the victims in this incident. According to a report from early Wednesday (Oct. 30), investigators are still trying to piece together who the shooter was in this case, meaning more information could be coming out as morning hits.
Sergeant John Long, a spokesman for the sheriff's department in Greenwood County, stated that officers rushed to the scene after a male caller phoned 911 emergency services shortly before 6 p.m. EDT on Tuesday night (Oct. 29) and said he was thinking of hurting himself. SWAT was called in and they tried to convince the caller to come out of the house. It was only after getting no response that the team entered the house and discovered what had taken place.
While police continue to investigate the scene and determine why it all took place, this South Carolina murder-suicide has already become national news. NBC was reporting on it as daylight started to break, but very little information has been released by the authorities just yet. The only real facts given out about what took place inside that Charleston house so far are that six family members have died.
