Myrtle Beach South Carolina is located along the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Myrtle Beach has become one of the most popular places to visit because of all of the wonderful water sports and other attractions that are there. The pristine beach is great for walking with miles and miles of sandy beaches, great swimming and awesome surfing. For the avid fisherman this is also a great place to visit and for family fun there are many varied attractions for the enjoyment of the entire family.

One of the main attractions is Ripley's Aquarium which just happens to be the most visited attraction in South Carolina. There is a 330 foot moving path that allows you to watch the large sharks and turtles as they swim freely. The Rio Amazon Rain Forest has over 2000 given species of fish. Two other wonderful attractions inside the aquarium are Rainbow Rock and Dangerous Reef between these two displays the colors of the various fish in contrast with the larger species is amazing. At Friendship Flats and Ray Bay visitors get to touch the stingray and in one specific area swimming with stingrays is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Alligator Adventure and the Waccatee Zoo are also a must see in the area.

Families with small children need to plan a visit to Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Family Kingdom Water Park located directly on the beaches as well as awesome golf courses, spectacular theaters, and shopping, with excellent restaurants close by. Festivals are also a common attraction for Myrtle Beach residents and visitors. Another must to see places in the area are Garden City beach, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet where you'll find some of the best fresh seafood and live entertainment available year-round. In Surfside all-day thrills and spills can be found at the Wild Water and Wheels Park.

There are also many campgrounds located on the Grand Strand for vacationers who prefer their own accommodations. The Grand Strand reaches 60 miles along the beautiful coastline of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. The Carolina Opry and Market Common are very popular among locals and tourists populations. On North Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing, the historic O.D. Pavilion, and the House of Blues as well as many ocean front hotels and condos are all within walking distance of various shopping and restaurant prospects. Atlantic Beach, Cherry Grove, Crescent, and Little River where the annual Blue Crab Festival is held, are all located on North Myrtle Beach.

There are many different beaches along the coastline and each has its own individual personality. While visiting be sure to visit as many of them as possible. Myrtle Beach is an awesome vacation experience for all ages.
