In a recent press release Event Director, Rachel Williams-Mitchell stated, "I'm doing this Gospel showcase to enlarge the territory of Gospel & Christian music blending the contemporary, soul, traditional, inspirational, rock and rap. I also want to see major artists and industry professionals give back through experience and knowledge as keynote speakers."
Jonathan McReynolds had this to say, "I’ve known about SXSW for years and this is a dream come true since I was in school. As a Gospel singer, I am wide open to going beyond the church walls and the world is ready to receive us. I'm non-traditional blending Gospel, Reggae, Rock and other music forms! What I won’t do is anything that distracts from the Gospel message. I’m excited and I know Austin will come out to support!"
SXSW brings Gospel music to the forefront and EMI Music is a strong supporter along with Harmony Soul Entertainment Group, KRL Agency, YaLife Media and White Glove Photos. This event is free and open to the public.
