Last week the Surfcomber Hotel in Miami Beach was the platform for three emerging Miami brands: Fratt Nation, Arcayne Salon, and Toast Vodka. Produced by Miami Fashion Network the event drew fashion influencers to the Social Club of the hotel. While enjoying views of the Surfcomber’s posh pool, fashion lovers took a drink of Toast’s pre-launch vodka while getting styled by Arcayne Salon.
The featured designer Fratt Nation brought models and collection samples of its authentic and edgy street wear. Founded in Miami by designers that have cut cloth for NFL and hip hop stars, Fratt Nation cleverly melds street authenticity with principled fashion. As if to demonstrate the interplay, Miami hip hop artist O.Z., Mr 28 Grams appeared in Fratt Nation gear and chilled with guests.
The Surfcomber Hotel was the perfect setting for a stylish event as this hotel is art-centric and hip. From the first step into the lobby replete with contemporary art and custom carved wooden tables, to the walk way to the pool lined with thought- starter animal sculptures of cows and sheep. Yet, this Art Deco hotel offers more than just cool art. The culinary fare includes unique delights such as Smoked Salmon on Marble Rye Crostini with Dill Pesto, and Jerk Chicken Salad on Cornbread.
In addition to the original food, an original fashion icon graced the hotel: Barbara Hulanicki, designer to the stars and founder in the 1960’s of the storied Biba brand in London.
This event evidenced that Miami is truly the ascendant epicenter of fashion, style, and entrepreneurship. With true Miami swag the guests Toast-ed the night, as “there is always something to toast.”
