South Beach Decay (Photos)

Most of the pictures we see of South Beach are of the neon lights on Ocean Drive. These snapshots during local sporting events and shown on national does not show the full story of what is happening in Miami Beach. Despite old buildings being renovated from time to time the inventory of decrepit hulks lurking our streets is on the increase. Construction starts and construction stops, and the residents are stuck with creepy looking eye-sores. I for one am tired of it, and took some pictures around our island to show you what I am seeing. We all know of one or two darkened corners, but lets look at all of them as a whole.

Why are New York based companies not held to task in their part of our cities blight? Why are these buildings allowed to be destroyed and not repaired or rebuilt? How long are companies allowed to leave up chain link eye-sores with no regard for the local neighborhood. It is something we should all look into. Please enjoy the slideshow.
