The world was shocked on Valentine's day when disabled Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. As Pistorius is standing trial for premeditated murder, a South African minister has found a way to blame homosexuals. According to IOL news on Wednesday, Oscar Bougardt of the Calvary Hope Ministries being investigated by the SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) for comments stating that Pistorius is "cursed for open supporting homosexuals".
The comments were made on Bougardt's Facebook page and has since been deleted but according to the comments, Bourgardt described Pistorius as one of "those sports stars who supported the filthy lifestyle of homosexuals" and said he stands by his comments and will continue to make such statements.
In one of the comments, Bourgardt said:
"I believe that Oscar Pistoirus is cursed for openly supporting homosexuals. According to the Holy Word of God, homosexuality is an abomination to God, and any person who supports homosexuals are doomed for hell."
He said he removed the Facebook comments because he was being harassed by homosexuals who he also managed to blame for a high crime rate in when they are entering into communities, picking up boys and giving them "drugs and alcohol."
"Our children are getting confused by these perverts."
Or perhaps Bougardt is the one confusing the children by promoting hate and homophobic views.
There have been other complaints of Bougardt's homophobic comments including saying that Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tuto should burn in hell for his acceptance of homosexuality.
