Georgetown Florida, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, UAB and Butler are also scheduled to play in the tournament which will take place at the at the Atlantis Resorts on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. The tournament usually takes place week of Thanksgiving.
The 2013 edition, which will be the tournament’s third year of existence, will feature the Kansas Jayhawks and Iowa Hawkeyes. Wake Forest, Villanova, USC, UTEP, Tennessee and Xavier are the other teams in this year’s tournament. The tournament will occur Nov. 28-30.
Butler and Georgetown are in the Big East but committed to the event before the new league was formed. The two teams will likely be on opposite brackets according to ESPN’s Andy Katz.
Two teams from the same conference have previously been in an early-season tournament. The Wooden Legacy in Anaheim this year has two teams from the Big East as well in Creighton and Marquette.
