Artie Lange fans don't want to believe it's true, but all signs are pointing to this being "the end" of Artie Lange on the Howard Stern Show.

The comedy news blog Punchline is reporting that a unnamed Sirius XM executive confirmed to another source that Artie Lange will no longer be a regular member of the Howard Stern Show cast.

“The exec told me Artie will no longer be on Howard as a full time regular,” the unnamed source told Punchline.

Howard Stern stated on Monday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast that he will be waiting for Artie Lange's family to make a statement on Artie's condition when they feel ready. So,...that doesn't sound to good.

And although Howard Stern was masterfully evasive on the Artie Lange issue, he did let one clue slip in his rant against Artie Lange critics on Howard Stern Show fan bulletin board SternFanNetwork.

"My fans are wolves," said Howard Stern. "Artie has given this show tremendous moments of great comedy--a tremendous contributor. He is a good man, and don't forget how great he is. In fact, I'll remind you. At some point during the week I will put teogther some of my greatest Artie moments."

A retrospective? That doesn't sound too promising either for Artie Lange's return to the Howard Stern Show either.

It may be a little while before we know Artie Lange's Sirius XM fate for sure. At this point, Howard Stern fans would just be thrilled to know whether or not Artie Lange is alive.

I love Artie Lange, and agree is was a great talent. He needs to voluntarily leave the show, and allow Stern to replace him. If Artie loves the show he will leave. His frequent record abscences have been a distraction. There appears to be no therapy that will bring Artie back on a permanent basis. You can't force him to sit in that seat.

The stern show has become what it once mocked and complained about. PC and heavily censored. Anyone on the heavily Stern controlled "stern fan network" website who criticises a show "vip" is banned and any threads that are critical are eventually removed. The site's owner, "mutt", is a syncophant who would rather have his brush with fame than let the truth come out. Way to go Howard, you've become exactly what you hated.

This is either a publicity stunt or the unfunny hack Lange is really gone. Either way, Howard and the pseudo "revolution" has been irrelevant for years.
