After a tumulutuous week in South Bend that saw a student's life put at risk ultimately ending in a tragic fatality the heat is on Notre Dame head football coach Brian Kelly and athletic director Jack Swarbrick. Both have been criticized for failing to protect the safety of Declan Sullivan, a videographer for the Notre Dame football team, under hardsh weather conditions. Sullivan was killed when the tower watching over football practice blew over in high wind conditions last week.
Swarbrick was pressured by many to ask Kelley for his resignation, which he refused to do in the afertmath. Which brings us up to speed with this interesting nugget.
I have been informed by a source close to the situation that today as many as 20 influential boosters met with Kelly and Swarbrick and requested they resign from their positions. Neither man chose to follow through with the resignations and some tension clearly left the meeting room. One booster reportedly asked Kelly directly how he could be unaware of the severe weather conditions to which Kelly replied that he was unaware.

That is complete BS, when your quarterback cannot complete passes because of the wind. The coach HAS to know the weather is a factor. I think Kelly, Swarbrick, the video coordinator and the equipment manager should all be fired. Any one of those could have prevented the catastrophe from occurring.
I am a small benefactor to ND and I can tell you unequivocally that this is pure BS blogger sensationalism. This DID NOT HAPPEN!
Hi. Either you made this up and you have no journalistic integrity, or you will somehow give yourself some credibility by describing or corroborating your source. Thanks! P.S. I hope you are correct.
Rest assure I did not make this up. This information is coming from a trusted source.
As if there is this secret group of donors who run the university. Come on MAN? That would be real catholic of these people not to forgive who ever sent the young man up there. You guys have a good coach now in BK, so don’t screw it up.
How is it that you are the only one in the media (a term I'm using loosely w/r/t you) that has this story, then?
And how is it that you are the only one who has such a source? Despite all of the people who are ostensibly and credibly connected to Notre Dame who don't?
How is your source connected to the University or these "Notre Dame boosters?"
You're not a real journalist and you don't have any sources, unless and until you prove otherwise.
Might want to learn how to spell if you want to grow up to be a big kid blogger someday.
Hey Adam, just because you forgive someone doesn't mean you continue to pay them a seven figure salary to lead, look after and protect more than a hundred of your young men. George O'Leary got fired from self righteous Notre Dame for fudging a little on his resume. Is what George O'Leary did worse? I feel bad for Kelly, I really do. But he should be let go. Swarbrick should be let go too, not because he is to blame, but because he's been a self serving schnook throughout this whole ordeal.
FYI My source close to the situation at the Examiner says you don't have a source close to the situation at Notre Dame
Wow, what a crock of crap...Guess what bud your source is wrong... I have my connections into ND and they say you are a fool... Blow your server up at least though..
FYI... Use spell check in this Hack Piece...
This is a stupid piece. Ignorant too.
If this is not true it should be. The young man should have never been put into that dangerous position. Shame on those responsible. My prayers go out to his family.
This is what journalism amounts to these days. Innumerous typos & no understanding of grammar. This is pure hogwash. Name your source pal. I am a domer who would be pleased if ND replaced Kelley (its Kelly numbnuts) with Stoops, Saban, or Gruden. This cannot be respected any more than can pieces about Weiss (Weis) or Claussen (Clausen). Hack piece. Slanderous. Note- journalistic "rules" still apply to public blogs. It's grey area... But libel is libel, slander is slander, and lies are still lies.
Every University has a group of "controlling" boosters. Their money and influence speaks much louder than others and it all happens behind closed doors. I'll definitely be watching what comes of this situation. Also I'll say it again, all four, the AD, Kelly, Video Coordinator and Equipment Manager should all be fired.
Got something to say?
