According to a report from VG 24/7 today, source code snoopers have allegedly found mentions of PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 in Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Leaked version of the game have found their way across the Internet, and obviously some of the downloaders did some digging into the game’s source code looking for juicy information about the game.
According to the report, a user on 4Chan found code mentioning PS4 and PC versions. The file included the word “Orbis,” the same name of the operating system of PS4 dev kits.
The code also displayed a function that indicated that the game could also have been released on PCs.
No mention of the Xbox One was found, however.
The leaked source code information by no means indicates that Rockstar Games has plans to release GTA 5 on the PS4, Xbox One or PC. The code could have been manipulated or simply was an item that wasn’t erased if the idea of putting the game on a next-gen platform went by the wayside.
Here’s a link to the images of the code.
GTA 5 is nearly here, as the game hits shelves starting at midnight tonight.
