Sour grapes tweet: Justin Bieber 'slapped' Black Keys Grammy award winner (Photos)

On Tuesday, Feb., Justin Bieber tweeted, "The Black Keys drummer should be slapped around, haha. " Immediate speculation is natural regarding the motive of the eighteen-year-old teen icon. Was Beiber's tweet "sour grapes," or a challenge?

While Grammy awards sailed past Bieber as if the teen idol didn't exist this year, the Black Keys received not one, but four awards. Young egos are fragile, and drummer, Patrick Carney, may have rubbed salt in Bieber's wounds when he suggested to TMZ, “Grammys are for like music, not for money … and he’s making a lot of money. He should be happy.”

Recently, Bieber appeared in his first Saturday Night Live (SNL) hosting gig. Beiber's delivery of “As Long As You Love Me,” sparked critic Carl Milliot of the "Idolator," to dole out some heady praise for Bieber's talent, writing, "Whoa, this dude has some musical chops!"

No doubt Bieber may be suffering a slow burn after what was viewed as a mortifying Grammy snub. Conversely, this may have been merely a playful challenge from Bieber, warning that in the upcoming Grammy new year, Bieber hopes to come on as a strong rival for the awards.

In a vote of confidence, one Bieber Twitter fan warned, "If u delete this tweet, I will NOT be a belieber anymore @justinbieber. " Since Bieber's tweet has not been deleted, and the tweet was made "about four hours ago," with the clock still ticking, apparently the feud is on. Whether Justin can flip the Black Keys and the rest of the musical industry into "beliebers," or not, remains to be seen.
