Over 40 local restaurants will be competing for various awards for their soup recipes and title of Souper Bowl Champion.  The 2010 Souper Bowl is a benefit for the Road Runner Food Bank

The Road Runner Food Bank takes on the tremendous task of feeding New Mexico's hungry. Sadly, 1 out of 6 New Mexicans are at risk of going hungry every day - that's a lot of hungry people to help! So what better way to spend a lunch than giving to a good cause and getting your soup on.

An example of the restaurants aiming for their best are: Kelly's Brew Pub, Saggio's, St. Clair Winery and Bistro, Standard Diner, Zinc, Hyatt Tamaya Resort, and a ton more!  You can see the full list of participating restaurants.

For only $40/Adult or $10/Children under 12; you will get to sample the soups, listen to live entertainment, and even better you get to sample and vote on best desserts. And no worries, you won't miss the real super bowl, this Souper Bowl is Saturday, January 30 from 11-2 (The football game is February 7). It will be held at the Food Bank's new distribution facility at 5840 Office Boulevard NE (near Jefferson & 1-25).  Buy your tickets online

And what a perfect time for Road Runner Food Bank to put on a Souper Bowl, as January is National Soup Month!
