Soup's on with Wave's new winter cooking class

Wave at the W Lake Shore invites guests to warm up and learn a thing or two about winter's staple meal during the first cooking class of the new year. Executive Chef Kristine Subido will demonstrate various soup recipes and serve up a five course lunch with wine parings.  Wave's menu straddles cultures with artfully applied spices and innovative presentation that literally takes diners on a cultural taste journey. Cooking classes, typically offered on the first Saturday of the month, allow guests to more intimately view both the chef's experience and unique items both on and off Wave's menu.

For $60, each participant will be treated to a welcome cocktail as well as tastes of all the recipes demonstrated, including Garlic Soup with crispy Parmesan Tuille. The class begins at 2:30 p.m. and lasts through 4:30 p.m.

Reservations are required.

Wave is located at 644 N. Lake Shore Drive. Call 312-255-4460.

If only I wasnt stuck in Cleveland. This sounds great. Nothing like good soup in thwe winter! I will trade the wine pairing for a coffee with zambucca or 1/2 hot chocolate, 1/2 coffee with Kahlua. Goes great with any soup, even Campbells split pea
